This bag was lovingly produced by a fantastic team in India where 9 out of 10 employees are women, many of whom are the main breadwinners in their families. Many have been working in the factory for over 14 years and they have one of the lowest worker turnover rates in the textile industry.

The factory operates as a big family unit - right from welcoming new team members, helping celebrate marriages and births, as well as uniting together to celebrate various festivals together like Diwali, Tamil New Year, Eid and Christmas.

What I love about their ethos is that every single member of the team is considered vital to the entire supply chain - as it should be! (but often isn’t in the textile industry sadly). From the design team printing artwork onto screens, the colour-mixers, stitching team, merchandisers, packing team to quality control - they are all given a chance to share their opinions, and improve the processes every day. This form of team unity ensures that the quality of the product is at the highest possible level. I love how everyone involved feels they have a stake in the product and campaigns. Their mantra? ‘Together we are stronger’.
